The Role Of Women In The Plan Of God
THE CREATION OF A WOMAN: (Gen 2:20) And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. (Gen 2:21) And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; (Gen 2:22) And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. (Gen 2:23) And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Made from the rib of a man which is close to the heart. Which caused God to have Paul write; even though this truth exists; (Eph 5:23) For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Here is the respect, and love men are to show their wives; (Eph 5:25) Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; (Eph 5:26) That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, (Eph 5:27) That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. (Eph 5:28) So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
As in most of nature the male is the stronger, and more dominant creation. The same with mankind. Everyone has a part to play in this thing called life. Our Bible is God’s revelation to mankind. It explains God’s will for His creation. God started out by calling Abraham. (Gen 12:1) Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: Abram (Abraham) obeyed God, and the history of God’s people begins.
In this period of time, a time which is called, the time of the patriarchs. The leaders of the people where the male family leader. We can read of the family leaders such as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This went on for some time, until God allowed the children of Jacob (Israel) to go down into Egypt in which they became slaves of the Egyptians, after Joseph had died. This slavery lasted 400 years. Then God raised up Moses to deliver His people out of slavery, and into a promised land. Moses was not allowed to lead the children into the promised land because he disobeyed God, by striking the rock for water, when God told him to speak to the rock. This is when Joshua took over as leader of God’s people. Led them into the promised land and divided the land to the people. The time of Patriarchs continued until, the time of the Judges, and then the Kings.
God, through Moses had set up the worship order for the delivered children of Israel from Egypt. The tribe of Levi was to take care of all the things of worship in the tabernacle. This is Judaism, or the Law of Moses. The Old Testament covenant that God had made with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses. This lasted for 40 years in the wilderness, and until God replaced this covenant with the New Testament covenant in Jesus of Nazareth. This is the covenant of Grace, and Truth. THE PROPHECY; (Jer 31:31) Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: (Jer 31:32) Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: (Jer 31:33) But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. A conformation of this coming new covenant is shown to us in this passage of Scripture; (Mat 17:1) And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, (Mat 17:2) And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. (Mat 17:3) And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. (Mat 17:4) Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. (Mat 17:5) While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. Jesus will go on and show that He is the very Son of God, and establish this new covenant by building His church, in which all that are saved must enter in. (Mat 16:18) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Mat 16:19) And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Peter being given the keys of authority by Jesus. Peter will be dominant in the Book of Acts until the 13th chapter, then Paul will be the dominant figure of authority, not taking away the authority of the other Apostles. Paul will be sent to the Gentiles.
This is all revealed to us in our Holy Bible, the inspired Word of God. And in this revelation of this new covenant, the role of the woman is defined clearly. God chose Saul of Tarsus, after his conversion, to become Paul the Apostle to the Gentiles, and to write two thirds of His revelation to mankind, the New Testament in our Bible. Everything we read in our Bibles is to build our faith in our wonderful God, and what He wants for mankind. By choosing Paul to write two thirds of our new testament, it builds our faith that Paul is speaking the will of God. So, in Scriptures like this we must believe Paul speaks in all God’s authority; (1Co 14:37) If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. So now let us see what the Apostle writes concerning a woman’s role in the church.
Paul writing to the young Evangelists Timothy, and Titus; (1Ti 2:9) In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; (1Ti 2:10) But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. (1Ti 2:11) Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. (1Ti 2:12) But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. (1Ti 2:13) For Adam was first formed, then Eve. (1Ti 2:14) And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. (1Ti 2:15) Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. AND TO TITUS; a woman’s teaching role in the church. (Tit 2:3) The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; (Tit 2:4) That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, (Tit 2:5) To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. PETER ALSO ADDS; (1Pe 3:1) In the same way, you wives should be willing to serve your husbands. Then, even those who have refused to accept God's teaching will be persuaded to believe because of the way you live. You will not need to say anything. (1Pe 3:2) Your husbands will see the pure lives that you live with respect for God. (1Pe 3:3) It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. (1Pe 3:4) No, your beauty should come from inside you—the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. That beauty will never disappear. It is worth very much to God. (1Pe 3:5) It was the same with the holy women who lived long ago and followed God. They made themselves beautiful in that same way. They were willing to serve their husbands. (1Pe 3:6) I am talking about women like Sarah. She obeyed Abraham, her husband, and called him her master. And you women are true children of Sarah if you always do what is right and are not afraid. (1Pe 3:7) In the same way, you husbands should live with your wives in an understanding way, since they are weaker than you. You should show them respect, because God gives them the same blessing he gives you—the grace of true life. Do this so that nothing will stop your prayers from being heard.
There are other Scriptures as well all are worth reading, as is all the Bible. It’s the revelation of God’s will, and dealings with mankind. It’s very clear that as time has evolved, so has the roles of men and women changed. It is not in God’s will, but it has happened, and is happening. It started mushrooming in the 40’s when our women had to go to work in the factories because of the war, but when the war was over the women stayed in the factories. This new found since of power, and authority was difficult to give up, and it continues today. I believe also that this is the beginning of the great falling away (40’s) that Paul speaks of in the IIThess. 2. Just waiting now for the man of sin to be revealed, then our Lord will return.
It is quite clear that in today’s society, and the lust for worldly things, that some women choose to live after the things of the world, than to live in God’s will. Does this mean they are lost, and won’t be saved? No. If they have accepted Jesus as Lord, and are trusting Him for their salvation, they will be saved. But a more happy, and satisfied life awaits those who stay in the will of God. Men, get your women back in the home teaching, and raising your children in the will of God. You don’t need all those extra things of the world that her money buys by working in the workforce. Anyone can acknowledge that this would improve our world. Children growing up without two parents, and especially no Mother at home to guide them is a terrible in justice to our children, and society.
I would be the first to acknowledge that there are some jobs that take our women from the home that are necessary, such as teachers, and health workers, other than these there are few. But even these are not to be put before our dedication to God.
God laid this message on my heart while lying in the hospital recovering from having a pacemaker installed in my body. At church we just handed out a form with different things a man can do in the fellowship, and ask what they would be willing to do. We will soon pass out a form for our women with the things that are Biblical for them to do in the church. If you take time to pray, and read this writing you will see that it is God’s will for the church, and world today for peace, and good order.
God bless, and the sooner we get back to this; (Jer 6:16) “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.” THE HAPPIER WE WILL BE. AND DON’T ANSWER AS THEY DID; “But they said, We will not walk therein.” SO SAD.
Please remember that we are all sinners saved by grace, but we can live a much happier, and peaceful life if we live it in the will of God.
(Eph 6:23) Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph 6:24) Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. ISN’T THAT BEAUTIFUL? |
