To the Church in Philadelphia

Rev 3:7  "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write,

'These things says He who is holy, He who is true, "HE WHO HAS THE KEY OF DAVID, HE WHO OPENS AND NO ONE SHUTS, AND SHUTS AND NO ONE OPENS":

Rev 3:8  "I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.

The church in Philadelphia was considered "weak" not because of a lack of faith or spiritual power, but because it was small and had little outward influence, facing persecution from the Jewish synagogue and the broader Roman culture

Rev 3:9  Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.

Rev 3:10  Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

Marks of the True Christian

Rom 12:9  Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling

to what is good.

Rom 12:10  Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;

Rom 12:11  not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

Rom 12:12  rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;

Rom 12:13  distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.

Rom 12:14  Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

Rom 12:15  Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

Rom 12:16  Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.

Rom 12:17  Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.

Rom 12:18  If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

Rom 12:19  Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord.

Rom 12:20  Therefore "IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM; IF

HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP COALS OF FIRE ON HIS HEAD."

Rom 12:21  Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Rev 3:11  Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.

Rev 3:12  He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

Rev 3:13  "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." '
