July 17, 2016 2Th 3:1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: 2Th 3:2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. 2Th 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. 2Th 3:4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. 2Th 3:5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ. The Lord's Prayer Mat 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are:for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Mat 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye:Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Mat 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread. Mat 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Mat 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. Mat 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: Mat 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. note: We should pray often for Brother Jerry and Greg for they lead us with pure hearts and a great desire to bring us the Word of the Lord. note: We remember in chapter 10 of Acts that Cornelius was told to send for Peter, that he should tell him what he ought to do (v.5-6). note: The leadership of the church has the authority and responsibility to share God's will for the congregation. note: God's plan will go forth if we understand it or not. example: James was killed by Herod and Peter was delivered. Ending with this thought from James: Jas 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. Jas 3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. |
